Aleutian Tern

Description
They are medium-sized seabirds, with a short, pointed bill and a long, deeply forked tail. They have a black cap with a white forehead, dark gray mantle and under-parts and a mostly pale under-wing with a dark secondary bar. Their rump and tail are white, their legs and bills are black.
Dimensions
They average range from 11 to 12 inches long, with a 28 to 29 inches wingspan. Their average weigh is only 3.9 ounces.
Diet
They eat small fish, crustaceans, and insects. They also eat small mollusks and marine worms as well.
Habitat & Range
This species breeds in colonies on coasts and islands in Alaska and easternmost Siberia.
Conservation status
THIS SPECIES IS LISTED AS LEAST CONCERN
